In 1983, Shelly's Country Cakes was set in motion when I pursued and received a degree in Culinary Arts. As much as the art of food interested me, I found myself gravitating to the pastry world. As a result, Shelly's Country Cakes was established in 2000.

In the past 25 years, I have been fortunate to polish my skills as a baker as well as a designer with renowned chefs from D.C. to Kansas City, back to my roots in Iowa. I bring that experience with me when creating your wedding cake. I enthusiastically challenge and expand my artistry skills with the latest trends and techniques in the trade.

Shelly's Country Cakes is managed out of our country log home, where I live with my husband, twin toddlers and extended four legged family. I am blessed to have a business that allows me an outlet for my creativity in cake art as well as providing me the opportunity to raise our family at home.
